  • Fri 25th May Opening of the Festival – This year’s lesbian Christmas begins with launch of Queervisuals – an internet extravaganza, the opening of the photo competition ‘Hands up Lesbians’, announcement of the winners of the erotic story competition, short films, and sculptural installation. With wine, great prizes and music by Louise Kileen. To be opened by Anna Nolan and Ailbhe Smith Filmbase, Eustace St, Dublin 1 7 - 8.30pm Free
    GRRRL Rock – Ebony Bones, Vile Vile Creatures, Party Weirdo, and Janey Mac. As always the girls rock the George. Four hot, queer, diy, independent grrrl bands take to the stage in The George from Ireland and abroad the GEORGE, Georges St, Dublin 2 9.00pm till late Free before 10pm
    Sat 26th May Workshops / talks Filmbase, Eustace, St, Dublin 1
    1) Drag drop in – get dressed in drag with Funtime Gustavo and other experts, leave with a photo to record your inner lad 2 - 5pm
    2) DJ workshops - introduction to the basics from the experts. (pre booking advised, numbers limited) 2 - 3.30pm or 3.30-5pm
    3) Porn Round Table Discussion. Why is there not more good gay girl porn? Answer the hard questions (upstairs) 2 - 3.30pm
    4) History of Sexuality talk by WERRC (upstairs) 3.30 - 5pm

  • Thurs 30th March 2006 aLAF Art Exhibition launches the aLAF Festival with its opening at the Front Lounge on Thursday 30th March 2006 at 7pm. two Irish lesbian artists to show thier work. Returning from aLAF 2005 we have Leanne Hurley, and a newcomer to the aLAF visual art exhibition is Yvonne Hennessy Front Lounge 7pm Free
    Queervisual, a digital projection onto Georges Street looks at queer culture from around the world. Images from queer and queer sensible artists, designers, photographers and film-makers give a shifting glimpse into alternative worlds. Georges Street Free
